Monarda fistulosa

Monarda fistulosa is a member of the mint family (Lamiaceae) commonly known as "Wild Bergamot" and "Bee Balm." Found throughout North America, M. fistulosa is characterized by bilabiate ("two-lipped") corolla forming a cluster at the end of an erect stem. This study explores the complex flower arrangement and general morphology of M. fistulosa.
