About

As a lifelong student and artist, Carol Marinelli quickly realized the powerful influence illustration had on her learning. She became a successful student through illustrating her studies but more importantly, she loved it. Natural science illustration has been a way for Carol to combine and channel her two life passions of art and biology, with a strive to create works of art that are both educational and aesthetic.

During her academic career, Carol aimed to expand her knowledge on a variety of subjects, ranging from molecular genetics to figure drawing. She completed her B.S. in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado, graduating with honors in May 2016, followed by completion of the University of Washington’s Natural Science Illustration Certificate Program in June 2017.

Carol prioritizes form and function, utilizing her style to emphasize key features and concepts within her illustrationsShe continues to practice her art as a volunteer and free-lance illustrator residing in Redmond, WA.
